I purchased this book for six dollars yesterday at the flea market in Buffalo. It truly is unrivaled: maps, graphs, drawings, and visual statistics of not easily visualized concepts. Some of my top favorite pages: Diagram of the Principal High Buildings of the World, The Solar System, and The Types of the Races of Man. I am always shocked at discovering [usually in books] firsthand the original ignorant thoughts of humankind, that are now existinct but smoldering still.
