April in pictures, or when I started to feel like myself again and picked up my camera after a 3 month hiatus.

where we love
I have been working a lot. I worked from home on Friday morning and this is a picture of my workspace. I thrive on good clutter.

(my desk on 12. 18.09)
Today when I woke up I couldn't tell if it had snowed. Then I looked at my deck. I love that orange chair I got at a yard sale. I love the color it brings to the monochrome outside.

Grapefruits are a good breakfast item. They fill you up, taste good, and look great.
I like the tinge of orange in my black and white world.

i am thinking about how garlic is the essence of taste. also how radishes contain the most magnificent color of red, that i wish i could duplicate. i am thinking about time and how it changes. (this is nothing new) and in thinking of how nothing is new, i thought about my continual battle with not biting my nails. it will never be overcome--always something to work on. that's ok; it will keep me busy.
i love dogs.
"people" are demanding me to make art. but i'm not making. i am in my head and exhausted to create. beyond excel files. being around art all day does not mean inspiration.
prodding.

The two things I have been staring at and still am:
1. A McDonald's coupon for a free chicken sandwich of my choice available at the not just new remodeled, but newly torn down and rebuilt, McKinley Parkway McDonald's
2. A 68 cent stamp from Ireland
I am reconsidering the "gossip column"--it will take the form of an beginning point for observation and will most likely focus on something specific

yuen-feng

yuen-feng is a pre-arranged coincidence. ten years could pass by for one certain incident, such as brushing shoulders with another person in a crowded city.
today has been inspiring. the leaves are brilliant shades. as i sat on the pavement and played in the dumpster dirt with a broken vine a neighbor handed me a broken-down cardboard box to sit on. i was facing the sun.
a box of books arrived--a gift from heaven [it was speculated]--with treasures. The Body by Jenny Boully, Species of Spaces and Other Places by Georges Perec, Soliloquy by Kenneth Goldsmith, The Last Picture Show by Douglas Fogle, among others: Making Art of Databases, Mapping Sitting, LaPorte Indiana, Found.
sometimes i love it here
